Summary of Qualifications

Provide course descriptions if necessary. Basic requirement: Diploma: which included or was completed by a major study in environmental education or in a field appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience – course equivalent to a major in Environmental Education, or in a field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired thanks to the successful completion of the 4th year of studies described above. Selective Placement Factor: Experience leading a regional or national environmental or conservation education program at the pre-K-12 level. In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you should also have the experience listed below. Specialized Experience Requirement: GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as most of the following: assisting in the development and conduct of environmental education course instructions and implementing environmental education programs, programs, trainings and materials . Assist in the evaluation of environmental education program activities and provide recommendations for projects related to environmental education. Develop expenditure proposals, grants and agreements in environmental education; and representing an environmental education program office at meetings and preparing presentations and briefings for a variety of audiences. GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as most of the following: Promoting innovative methods, techniques and approaches in environmental education; Coordinate with appropriate staff and partners to promote environmental education efforts and related initiatives; Modify environmental or natural resource education curricula and training materials to meet environmental education needs; Lead, guide and integrate team members engaged in projects related to environmental education and training; Development of expenditure proposals, grants and agreements in environmental education; Communicate written assessments, ideas, concepts and recommendations on environmental education issues to a variety of audiences. Experience refers to both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done in national service programs (eg, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (eg, professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps develop essential skills, knowledge and abilities and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly into paid employment. You will receive credit for any qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GRADE TIME REQUIREMENTS: If you are currently a federal employee of the General Schedule (GS) Compensation Plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet the Grade Time Requirements (TIG ) 52 weeks of service at the next lower level. level in the normal progression line of the position to be filled.
