Fluency in Spanish and strong research and writing skills are essential assets for this new position. We are looking for someone who is willing to take initiative and who is not afraid to ask questions. Ideally, you already live in the Washington, DC area, or would be willing to move here.
As a Communications Coordinator, you will work on multiple projects, assisting mid- and senior-level staff and performing a variety of tasks that represent the backbone of our considerable success as a global communications company. Without too much training, you would quickly excel at researching and creating media lists and distributing press materials electronically; conduct online research; monitoring of media coverage; manage the logistics of virtual and in-person media events; and prepare agendas and take detailed notes for meetings you would hold across multiple time zones. You will also pitch to journalists in Spanish and English, conduct social media outreach and compile metrics, write pitches for journalists, and write newsletters, media advisories, blogs and articles. other press materials.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using databases like Muck Rack, project management systems like Asana, and email marketing services like Mailchimp would be an asset, as would fluency in Portuguese and an interest for issues relating to indigenous peoples.
